The primary goal of a Quality Assurance Specialist or Engineer is to ensure that no defective product or service reaches the customer. This role requires a structured and skilled problem solver with a technical background and experience in production, production engineering, or procurement.
Responsibilities:
- Customer Complaints Management: Follow up, investigate, and report results to the customer and internally.
- Supplier Complaints Management: Issue and follow up on supplier complaints to ensure high quality in the company's supply chain.
- Supplier Quality Assurance: Conduct quality assurance of suppliers and work on improving their performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in ongoing improvements and work to optimize processes.
- Audits: Plan, execute, and follow up on audits against ISO9001 and classification societies.
- Project Support: Support project work with quality issues.
- Calibration Maintenance: Responsible for maintaining the calibration process.
- Quality Control Processes: Define quality control processes and ensure the organization follows applicable quality and operational systems. Work together with production and development to resolve and prevent current process or product issues.
- Employee Training: Educate employees in product and process quality.
- Problem-Solving Leadership: Lead problem-solving efforts when customer-related or internally identified quality issues arise within your area of responsibility. Prepare and drive any necessary 8D reports.
